How would you describe your journey? Brief us on the inception story of your career.
Life, in its unpredictable wisdom, thrust me onto a path I didn’t plan on walking. It was my own encounter with daunting health challenges that led me to explore the dynamic interplay between neuroscience, emotional wellbeing, nutrition, and the healing arts. Through this exploration, I not only rebuilt my own health but also discovered a calling – a way to help high-performing women, like you, grapple with a gnawing sense of not-enoughness, a constant echo of not-belonging, even in the midst of success.
In life, we often find ourselves at the junction of unexpected paths. I chose to follow a trail that most couldn’t piece together, one that led me to the intriguing depths of Neuropsychoideology, the philosophical wisdom of yoga, and the holistic integration of nutrition. People often looked at me, puzzled, asking, “Why this diverse, seemingly disconnected path?” To be honest, I didn’t have a ready answer, but I was led by an innate pull toward holistic wellness.
Then, in 2011, my world was rocked. I lost my younger brother, and the intense wave of grief threatened to pull me under. The physical toll of that emotional pain was so potent that, a mere eight months later, I suffered a stroke. Suddenly, I found myself fighting for survival, grappling with mortality.
Yet, through this turmoil, I found grace. The grace of second chances, the grace of new perspectives. Miraculously, I survived. More than that, I emerged with an even more profound commitment to this path I had been walking.
I realized that, just as I had navigated my own healing journey, I was meant to serve as a guide for others. To help them process and release their deeply buried traumas and stresses. To journey with them towards the freedom that comes when we face our pain, embrace our healing, and step into the fullest expression of our lives.
So here I am, on the other side of grief and illness, armed with a blend of neuroscience, emotional wellbeing, nutrition, and healing arts. Ready to support you on your path, just as I navigated mine, and ready to connect those dots in ways that can truly transform your life.
Enlighten us about your role in the organization you are leading / associated with?
As the founder of the Whole Life Healing Coach™ and Whole Life Healing Centers, I’ve dedicated myself to creating a brave space. A space where you can show up, lean into your vulnerabilities, challenge your fears, and find your path to whole-hearted living. While this is not a journey for the faint of heart – we begin right where you are so you can become exactly who you were created to be.
Where do you find inspiration? What motivates you to work harder?
The men and women I serve, women and men like you, are the wellspring of my inspiration. Your willingness to step into the arena, even when it feels uncomfortable, motivates me. It fuels me to continue expanding this community where transformation isn’t just a promise, but a lived reality.
Working with high level thinkers, many often feel ‘lonely at the top’ and their belief of ‘I am never enough’ prevents them from seeking support; often because they don’t think anyone else feels that way.
My highest goal is to expand into the world in my own vulnerability, creating WLHCoach’s™ to change billions of lives, one person at a time.
Kindly mention some of the notable recognitions and accreditations received by your person.
Recognition has come in many forms – speaking engagements, podcast appearances, television features, Women Leaders to Look Up to for 2022 – and each one has its own value. But nothing compares to the honor of witnessing a person reclaim their worthiness, their place in the world, and their sense of self.
What is the one thing you wish you had known about women in your line of work before you started working?
I wish I had known just how universal the feeling of inadequacy can be, even among the most outwardly successful women. This knowledge now guides my work, deepening my commitment to help every woman embrace her inherent worthiness.
Delving deeper into the intricate landscape of human experience, my hope is to shed light on the profound impact of trauma of which I did not previously know. The ripples of its presence extend far beyond the individual, touching the lives of those we hold dear. When we grapple with trauma, whether it’s a single event or an accumulation of high-stress experiences, our capacity to tap into the brilliance of our prefrontal cortex becomes impaired – this is not conjecture, it’s science.
Had I known earlier that it’s possible to uproot trauma without reliving the pain, without casting judgment upon ourselves, I might have journeyed differently. But now I understand, and I share this wisdom with you: Trauma healing is not only about revisiting the past; it’s about nurturing your present and reshaping your future.
One of the most liberating revelations of this journey has been understanding that our genetics aren’t set in stone. Yes, they provide a blueprint, but they don’t dictate our destiny. What often binds us are not our genes but our fixed mindsets. However, here’s the beautiful part: our mindsets can change. They can evolve, adapt, and shift towards more nurturing and empowering beliefs. Through the process of transformation and healing, we can shift from a place of pain to one of boundless potential.
Do you believe it is compulsory for a woman to manage a household alongside her work?
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer here. Each woman must chart her own path, striking a balance that feels true for her. The choice belongs to you, not to societal norms or expectations.
As a woman, what has been the highlight of your career? What are the changes you wish to make for the better in your professional life post-pandemic?
The zenith of my professional journey is not marked by accolades or achievements but by witnessing personal transformations unfold right before my eyes. It’s the moment when a woman steps forward from the dimly lit corners of self-doubt into the radiant glow of self-belief. That is the real measure of my work’s value.
To hear from someone, who has been scarred by war, endured shock therapy, and weathered two decades of psychotherapy, say, “In just six months, you’ve helped me more than all my previous treatments combined,” is humbling. It is moments like these that cement my conviction that this healing path is a journey much greater than myself.
In a world reshaped by the pandemic, my aspirations are to cast this transformative light even wider. I want to touch more lives, to instigate more metamorphoses.
My commitment to this purpose is unwavering. I continue to expand my toolbox, delve into new learning spaces. My repertoire now includes techniques like Brainspotting, and I have been certified in trauma coaching from the Arizona Trauma Institute, and now will undertake Bessel VanDerKolk’s Trauma course. My journey is a continuous process of learning and growing, all in service of nurturing transformations.
Brief us on the changes the pandemic brought to your sector and your market. Has the work-culture altered?
The pandemic has irreversibly shifted our lives into a digital age, but the essence of our work remains unchanged. We remain steadfast in our commitment to provide a sanctuary; a compassionate and safe space for introspection and for bravely facing internal turmoil, irrespective of your geographical coordinates.
The pandemic has unmasked another facet of trauma, one that shakes the very foundation of our existence. This ‘existential trauma’ has reignited my passion, fueling my resolve to bring healing. My vision is simple – ‘heal one to heal all.’
I truly believe that a ripple effect can be created, where inner peace and love within one individual can influence the outer world, shaping a reality that mirrors these values. It is this potential for transformation that I want to tap into, extending an invitation to those willing to embark on this transformative journey.
What words of wisdom/ inspiration/ advice would you offer to the next generation of female leaders?
Embrace the courage to show up, to be seen, and to live authentically. It’s okay, it’s human, to feel vulnerable, and there’s no shame in asking for help. Remember, true leadership stems not only from accomplishments but from personal growth and the authenticity with which you live your life.
