Known for his controversial tweets, Elon Musk has yet again grabbed attention by calling Twitter the “world’s largest non-profit“. His tweet skyrocketed and received a massive response of 36 million views and around 380,000 likes.
He wrote, “Say what you want about me, but I acquired the world’s largest non-profit for $44B lol“. When the American video game designer Derek Smart responded, “Now open source it, then we’ll be truly impressed“. To which Musk promptly replied, “Prepare to be disappointed at first when our algorithm is made open source next week, but it will improve rapidly!“.
The Twitter CEO has been talking about open-sourcing Twitter algorithm for quite a while. He plans to open-source the algorithm as soon as next week.
Twitter has also revealed that the Community Notes will start notifying users if their Community Note shows up on a tweet they have replied to, liked, or retweeted.
“Starting today, you’ll get a heads up if a Community Note starts showing on a Tweet you’ve replied to, Liked, or Retweeted. This helps give people extra context that they might otherwise miss,” tweeted the Community Notes handle.
